Our Cats

Here you will find our information and pictures of our current cats. An alter is a term used to describe a purebred, but neutered or spayed cat. Whole is the term used to describe cats whose reproductive organs have not been removed. If you want to learn more about the cats, they have been genetically tested using the Optimal Selection™ Feline Genetic Breeding Analysis kit. Simply click on the button beneath their description and you will be able to see their full results.

Breeding Cats

Solanaranch Medusa of Soquelcreek

Medusa is a 6th generation (6G) Bengal girl. She is the daughter of retired breeding cat, Uncia, and is a very special girl. Medusa was born on March 9, 2020 - the Monday of the week California went into lockdown due to the COVID pandemic. We were very excited to be able to compete with her in cat shows as a kitten, but unfortunately, we have been unable to attend any shows with her throughout the pandemic. She is now a little over two years old now and is the sweetest cat! She has the exact personality we strive for in our breeding program. She is extremely confident and comfortable around strangers, she has no issues being picked up or held like a baby, and she knows how to have fun! She is a mink marble and so those recessive traits allow her to produce kittens of nearly any color or pattern in the TICA Bengal standard.

We are expecting Medusa’s first litter on July 17th, 2022. The father is Mumindalens BimisArkyn (Arkyn) from over at Quality Bengal Kittens . If you click on the link and go to their page, Arkyn is the last male at the bottom. Check out the kittens from their litter on the Available Kittens page!

Alters

TICA RW QGCA, LCWW GC Solanaranch Orestes Luis

Orestes is a 5th generation (5G) Bengal boy. He was purchased along with Elektra from our friends over at Quality Bengal Kittens, Jon and Robyn Paterson. Unlike Elektra, when we started showing Orestes he got progressively more comfortable in the show hall and ultimately earned a regional win in the Mid-Pacific region of TICA as well as the title of Quadruple Grand Champion Alter. He is our most adventurous cat who can comfortably hold his own while on leash and absolutely loves his belly rubs. He was never intended to be a breeding cat, but we decided to get him genetically tested for fun anyway and you can see the results below.

TICA RW GCA Solanaranch Elektra Mercedes

Elektra is a 6th generation (6G) Bengal girl. When Elektra was born, she bore such a strong resemblance to her older sister that she was given the nickname “Bruncia” as she was the brown version of Uncia. We were able to show Elektra successfully enough so that she earned a regional win in the Mid-Pacific region of TICA, like Orestes, and the title of Grand Champion Alter, but we decided to stop showing her as she demonstrated her discomfort with the show hall by beating Orestes up between rings. She is now retired from showing and is enjoying life at home. She isn’t as adventurous as Orestes, but still tags along and enjoys getting out of the stroller every so often as well. Like Orestes, Elektra is a pet, but we got her genetically tested as well.

Retired Breeding Cats

RW SGC Solanaranch Uncia

Uncia is a 6th generation (6G) Bengal girl. She is Elektra’s full sister with the same mom and dad, but was born a year before Elektra. She had 4 litters before retiring. The first two were with Solanaranch What the Deuce (also known as Patman), the third with Jewelspride Skookum, and she just had a litter with Cositoes Shaded Tweed (also known as Tweedy). Her first two litters had five kittens, her third one had three, and her last litter she decided to give us four kittens! While she does carry for PK-Def, none of the males she has bred with do so there is no risk of this disease in her kittens. She also has undergone additional genetic testing and carries the marble gene. She was last scanned for HCM and tested negative in 2019.

She is enjoying her retirement with a nice family in northern California.
